Many of us eagerly await for festivals, so that we could meet our friends and relatives, away from the busy schedule, a Mental Detox which is very essential for our mental health. However, it is also this time of the year where are a strict regime that we would otherwise follow religiously is skipped.
However, the atmosphere is very fun and celebrating mood and this creates a memory in our brain which unconsciously waits for the fun-filled mood again. The most important bonding factor is “FOOD”.
Food is a way of celebration during these festivals and an enormous amount is prepared and exchanged with the near and dear ones. It’s time exclusively to pamper the taste buds with all different sweets, savories, delicious food and traditional prepared and eaten with family.
After such an exciting festive period, we often feel guilty about the feasting. Out of this guilt, we often resort to fast as we believe we are compensating after the feast. This clearly only adds the few extra kilos and makes us difficult to lose weight.
Surprisingly we can choose a gift of nature which help us to reduce the excess kilos and feel light. Here is an interesting and easy way to implement it after the feasting, Next day:
Early morning: Luke warm water with lemon juice
2 soaked almonds and 1 walnut.
· This helps in flushing the toxins and provides a medium to increase the appetite and increases the flow of energy and keeps us hydrated.
· Almonds and walnuts are the good sources of good fat and help in absorbing the nutrients
Morning-Breakfast: Roti+ dal/sabzi, poha, upma with vegetables, such as (beans, carrot, onion, and peas) are packed with nutrients which provide energy releasing nutrients.
Mid –Morning: Dried Fruits such as Black raisins, dried apricots
Carrot, Apple and tomato: Helps in proper blood circulation and fat mobilizing.
Evening: Green tea/Green Coffee is a metabolism booster
Fruits: Apple/ Papaya/Pineapple/Pear/Guava/Plums/Orange/Sweet Lime.
Dinner: Bhakri / Thalipeeta/Roti: Ragi, Jowar, and Bajra with dal and sabzi
Water: Most important nutrient we would require 8-10 glasses are essential for the proper digestion.
Sleep: 6-8 hours of sleep is essential for the detoxification is most essential since the body cleansing procedures occur while we rest completely.
